What Should I do in an Emergency?
The Kent Resilience Forum (KRF) is made up of local emergency services, health agencies, local authorities, the military and the Environment Agency and they have produced a very useful handbook on what to do in the event of a wide range of emergency situations.
These emergencies include:
- Loss of water
- Loss of power
- Severe weather (High winds, heavy snow, extreme cold and summer heatwaves)
- Health and pandemics (Infectious diseases)
- Security incidents
The handbook also contains helpful information on how to make a household emergency plan, what to pack in an emergency 'grab bag' and a quick reference for emergency and information contacts, such as NHS and the Environment Agency.
Complete the information for your household and retain the handbook in a safe place to ensure you are prepared for all emergencies.
