Support for businesses impacted by lockdown
Grants for eligible businesses which have been required to close by law during the latest phase of national COVID-19 restrictions are now available.
The Local Restrictions Support Grant - funded by central government and administered by Ashford Borough Council - will be available to those in the Ashford Borough Council District that are:
- Liable for business rates, and
- Were open as usual and providing in-person services from the business premises the day before lockdown was imposed on 5th November, and
- Required to close by law

Your information will be used to administrate Covid related business support, and processing is being conducted relying upon the public interest legal basis. Your data may be shared with other departments within the council, HMRC and other government departments for the purpose of improving services, keeping records up-to-date and for the protection of the public fund. Local Restrictions Support Grant
Businesses that pay Business Rates and are required to close in England due to the 28-day national lockdown that started on 5th November will be eligible to apply for the LRSG. They could be eligible for the following:
The national lockdown started on 5 November.
Businesses which have been adversely impacted by the pandemic but do not meet the criteria may qualify for an Additional Restrictions Grant.
These grants - also funded by central government and administered by ABC – will be awarded as per the guidance set out by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.
