Meet the teamLast updated 31 July 2020
The team tasked with delivering the Victoria Park project has grown! We’d like to introduce you to everyone currently involved in the project:
Open Space Planning & Development Officer - Emma Powell
Emma has been working on the project since 2018; she managed the development of the bid to National Lottery Heritage Fund and has been the main point of contact for the project. Since the successful award of the funding, Emma has been working closely with the team of design consultants, obtaining all the necessary permissions for the project, keeping the community updated and interviewing for project staff. Emma will continue to be the overall project lead - managing the budget, managing the team, working closely with NLHF and generally keeping the project on track.
Volunteering and Community Engagement Officer - Vicky Fannon
Vicky’s role will see her working closely with the local community to grow opportunities for involvement at Victoria Park. One factor of this is setting up a volunteering programme for the park offering many opportunities for people to get involved in over the next three years and beyond. She will also be setting up a variety of community based activities and events, including workshops in the community hub, additional fitness offerings in the park, and events to celebrate our local community. Vicky encourages contact from any local community groups who feel they have something to offer, or are interested in finding out how they can get more involved in Victoria Park to email her.
Youth Involvement Co-ordinator - Nicola Priest
Nicola will be setting up and overseeing children's and youth activities in Victoria Park over the next three years. This will include opportunities for young people to get involved in music, street art, nature, heritage and other creative activities. She will also be facilitating opportunities for young people to shape the development of the park and impact how it could be used by young people in the future. Nicola welcomes youth organisations, schools and young people who are interested in being involved to email her.
