Consultation launched on Ashford Borough Council's Draft Local Validation ChecklistPublished: 05/07/2021
Do you have experience of submitting planning applications? If so we need your help.
We are asking for your views on our Draft Local Validation Checklist.
Since 2008 Local Planning Authorities are required to publish information checklists they use to ‘validate’ the planning applications they receive.
A validation list has 2 components:
- The national requirements, such as the application form, fee and certificates
- Specific local requirements are known as the ‘Local List’
The Government now requires local planning authorities to review the ‘Local List’ every two years. Since there continues to be a significant number of changes to planning legislation, policy and guidance, rendering the existing checklist to be out of date we believe it is now the right time to adopt up to date local validation requirements.
Please use the online portal to view the checklist and make any comments by 5pm on 9 August 2021.
Alternatively, if you know someone that is unable to access this online portal, hard copies of the document and the comment form can be requested by calling planning help on 01233 331111.
