Cuckoo Park, which officially opened in March 2015, is a fantastic new open space for Singleton and the surrounding area.
Cuckoo Park features brand new children's play equipment including a 30ft climbing frame, an outdoor gym and a youth shelter.
Pupils from John Wesley Primary School have helped local artist, Steve Portchmouth, to design a giant picnic table and other park furniture inspired by Flora the Singleton Giant.
The project has been funded by developers Redrow Homes, Jarvis Homes, Persimmon Homes and Hillreed Homes through S106 contributions. It will be leased to Great Chart with Singleton Parish Council, which will maintain it on behalf of the community.
Working closely with Great Chart with Singleton Parish Council, it is hoped the park will serve 7,000 people across three neighbourhoods, including around 1,700 children.
The creation of Cuckoo Park will allow the Parish Council to manage, control and look after it for many years, and ensure children have a safe place to play.
It is the first park Ashford Borough Council has created from scratch in approximately 20 years.
