The first draw takes place this Saturday 19 March 2022 for the Ashford Community Lottery

Tickets are now available online for the Ashford Community Lottery and your chance to scoop a £25,000 jackpot and help local good causes.

The first draw takes place this Saturday 19 March 2022. With weekly draws taking place on Saturdays at 8pm afterwards.

Players have a fifty to one chance of winning one of the prizes, which range from the £25,000 jackpot to three extra tickets.

Tickets cost £1, with 60p going directly to the local good cause of your choice. The remainder of the ticket price is put towards prizes, operating costs and VAT.

We currently have forty-five fantastic local good causes signed up for you to support, including Made in Ashford & The Craftship, Sk8side CIC, The Limes Community Garden and Ashford Baby Memorial Garden Charity.

It is free for local good causes to register for the Ashford Community Lottery and we encourage more to sign up. For every £1 ticket bought through your page you keep 60p to spend as you wish. More information on how to sign up is available on the Ashford Community Lottery website.

Melissa Dawkins from Made in Ashford & The Craftship, said “We are so pleased to be a part of the Ashford Community Lottery.

“We have chosen to put the funds we generate from the ticket sales purchased from our page towards free family craft sessions held on a Saturday in our creative hub in the town centre.

We want to spread joy, learn new skills, connect with others and make wonderful things in the heart of our town. These sessions not only give the gift of creativity to our community but also support creative, local businesses by being paid to lead workshops.

I was amazed to see all the brilliant good causes locally you can support. It is wonderful that we have so many organisations giving so much here in Ashford. Check them all out, you may want to support more than one!”

Cllr Matthew Forrest, portfolio holder for culture, tourism and leisure, said “Set up to support community projects in the local area, Ashford Community Lottery operates on the principle of raising money within the community for the community.

“We have been pleased to see so many local good causes sign up to raise funds, we hope people take the opportunity to not only be in the chance of winning prizes - but support those helping our community.”
