Dispensations

A parking dispensation allows a vehicle to park in some restricted areas. This includes permit bays, limited waiting bays and loading bays. If an alternative parking solution is available, it should be used.

A dispensation permit is valid for Monday-Friday only and costs £30 per week or part week.

There is an additional charge for occupying a Pay and Display parking bay. This costs an additional £10 per day, up to a maximum of £30 per week.

Bay suspensions

Contact us to suspend restrictions on parking bays. This may be necessary for certain activities, such as removals. For example, for building work or for aiding traffic flow. 

A parking bay suspension is valid for Monday-Friday only and costs £50 per week or part week.

We require ten days’ notice to consider granting a parking bay suspension. We need to check what else may be happening in the area and to get notices and cones in place before the start date.

Road closures and temporary traffic orders

Longer road closures and associated bay suspensions may require the use of a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO). These are undertaken by the Kent Highways team at Kent County Council.
