Data Protection Complaints Review Procedure

Internal Review Procedure for Data Protection Complaints

If you are unhappy with the response you received from the Data Protection Team, you can ask for an internal review.

Your review request will be considered by the Data Protection Officer, or by a Corporate Director. This helps ensure the review is fair and independent.

We will look again at how your request was handled and whether the decision was correct. We will respond to your review within one calendar month.

You will be told the outcome in writing.  If you remain dissatisfied after the review, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

The Council will not review decisions where a request has been refused as vexatious or repeated. In these cases, you should complain directly to the Information Commissioner's Office.

You can submit a request for us to review your data protection complaint in any of the following ways:

Find out how to contact the council via telephone, email or in person via a dedicated page on our website.
