Askes has a large communal lounge and laundry facilities; there is a communal kitchen which is used when catering for social functions for the scheme residents.
Social activities
There are regular coffee mornings and weekly bingo sessions, fish and chip suppers, game sessions and afternoon tea. There are also celebrations around harvest festival and Christmas time. Once a month a church service occurs in the lounge
Local information
Askes Court is conveniently located in Singleton and is within 100 yards of some local shops including a Post Office, a chemist, and takeaway restaurants. There are also two doctors' surgeries and a dentist within walking distance and good public transport links to Ashford. There are discounted bus service to Jempsons Supermarket in Peasmarsh on a Monday morning. Locally there are also good walks around Singleton Lake with lots of birdlife, and the local public house!

There are special festivities at Christmas with a meal and a party night. There are also regular fish and chip evenings and live entertainment. The WI run a whist drive every month in the lounge and invite all to join in.
Local information
There are a number of shops within a five-minute walk including a Post Office, general shop and a hairdresser; similarly the bus stop with services to Ashford every hour is just a short walk away from the scheme. You are just 10 minutes walk from a large ASDA supermarket and Ashford's Designer Shopping Village and the GP Surgery is five minutes by car.

Hamstreet has its own Post Office, a well-stocked convenience store and small village shops. The local GP surgery is only 200 yards from the scheme. The village also has its own village hall, pub, numerous clubs and societies, and some wonderful views of the surrounding Kent countryside. Hamstreet holds a popular annual country show.

Danemore redevelopment
Danemore has been through an extensive remodelling programme and was officially opened on 12 February 2020 by HRH The Princess Royal. The new development includes 34 new apartments for Affordable Rent. Four chalet bungalows were also built and sold on the open market. The apartments are a mixture of one and two bedrooms built to a high quality that is extra care ready. New communal facilities have been provided as well as much improved parking areas.
Local information
Danemore is just a short stroll from Tenterden town centre. It has just about all the shopping you are likely to need with a weekly market, Waitrose and Tesco but also has many exquisite boutiques. Phase 1 of Farrow Court was completed in December 2015. This included 33 new apartments with one and two bedrooms over three floors. There is a large communal lounge with a fitted kitchen this leads out onto one of the courtyards. There are laundry facilities on a pay per use for residents to use. Farrow Court has its own Hair Salon that is run by Eden Hair and Beauty and is open 6 days a week. In addition to a Therapy room which is used by a regular Chiropodist and for beauty treatments. There are two bathrooms for residents one is fully assisted. There is ample storage for mobility scooters within the scheme.
Farrow Court also has the luxury of adjoining the Age UK day centre where residents are encouraged to go along and join in a range of activities and receive a cooked meal. There is a cost payable to Age UK.
HomeBridge is a recuperative care facility managed by KCC Social Services and the 12 flats for adults with Learning Disabilities are managed by KCC LD Team.

Local information
Farrow Court is close to a range of local shops and amenities. It is well served by nearby bus stops on the A Line and it is only a few minutes away from two large supermarkets, as well the other shopping facilities Ashford has to offer. There are nearby GP and dental surgeries.

Rolvenden itself has a church, two pubs, a convenience store which delivers once a week, a Post Office and numerous clubs and societies including British Legion, WI and many more within walking distance. The village also has a weekly farmers' market. There are regular buses to Ashford, Tenterden and Hastings.
