Residents, shoppers and visitors have another option when parking in Ashford Town Centre, as the new temporary Edinburgh Road Car Park is now open from today (Monday 2 November).

Providing 198 parking spaces, including 14 disabled bays and 10 electric vehicle charging points, the temporary car park will help support town centre businesses and visitors while future development plans for the wider area continue.

To encourage people to visit and spend time in the town centre, the popular free parking after 3pm offer will transfer from Elwick Place Car Park to Edinburgh Road Car Park when it opens. Drivers will be able to park for free after 3pm from Monday to Saturday, with free parking available all day on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

The temporary car park was originally expected to open later in the year but is now ready to welcome customers much sooner, providing a convenient and accessible parking option close to the town centre ahead of the festive period.

It has been designed to support residents, visitors and businesses by increasing parking availability and improving access to local shops, services and leisure facilities.

While the free after 3pm incentive will move to Edinburgh Road Car Park, visitors to Elwick Place Car Park will continue to benefit from four hours of free parking when using The Ashford Cinema and Loop, which is due to open on 27 November.
