Terms and Conditions of Use

Applicant details

Details published on the public registers are published for the purpose of planning and building control matters only. They should not be used for any mailing or other lists without being filtered against the Mailing Preference Service (MPS) Consumer File. Details of how to obtain the MPS Consumer File can be found on the MPS website. Use of applicants’ details without such filtering constitutes an offence under the regulations of the Advertising Standards Authority, and can result in penalties.

Copyright

Plans, drawings and material submitted to the Council are protected by the Copyright Acts (Section 47, 1988 Act). You may only use material which is downloaded and/or printed for consultation purposes, to compare current applications with previous schemes and to check whether developments have been completed in accordance with approved plans. Further copies must not be made without the prior permission of the copyright owner. You may, however, make copies of the decision notice provided the copies are not altered in any way.

Please note that whilst all images on this website are scans of scaled originals, the images will not appear at any particular scale on your computer screen. Figured dimensions, where they appear, are the only reliable method of obtaining measurements from these images.

Commenting on applications

Although the council reserves the right to remove inappropriate or offensive comments from the web site as necessary, such comments may still be viewable prior to any removal and viewable by visitors to International House. It is therefore your sole responsibility to ensure you do not include defamatory remarks in your comments as you could be held legally responsible for them in the future.

Privacy notice

Ashford Borough Council (ABC) is the data controller for the personal information you provide when commenting on an application. ABC’s Data Protection Officer can be contacted at FOI@ashford.gov.uk. Your information will be used to process the planning application which relies upon the public interest legal basis. Your comments, including your name and address, will be viewable on this web site whilst the application or any subsequent appeal is being considered. Your telephone number and e-mail address will not be viewable on this website. Personal data may be retained for up to 3 years and used for further consultation should revised /new applications for the same site be submitted in future.
