A root barrier has now been installed below ground around the mature copper beech tree located next to Grade II listed Repton Manor. This follows a reduction to the crown of the tree which was carried out to ensure the tree remains healthy now the root barrier has been installed, mitigating the effects of the root loss.

The copper beech tree, estimated to be between 120-150 years old lies just nine metres from Repton Manor, which is over 400 years old. A distinctive civic landmark, the attractive tree formed an important part of the original masterplan for Repton, adding character and identity to the area.

We will be returning to carry out further treatment and maintenance of the soft grass verge beneath the tree canopy to provide the best conditions for the copper beech to thrive, preserving this important natural landmark.
