Pre-Application Fees and Process

There will be a queuing system for all categories except majors. Limited to a maximum of 10 ‘live’ cases for householders and 20 for minors on a first come first served basis.  Places will only be secured once applications are valid.  

Applications should be submitted using our online portal.  

Once we are satisfied your pre-application advice request contains the correct minimum information required, your application will join the relevant queue until a space becomes available to progress your request.  Once a space is available, you will receive a request to submit the required fee.  Once the correct fee is received, the pre-app will then be validated, registered and progress as a “live” case.   An officer will also be allocated and a likely decision date confirmed.

Advice for Listed Buildings

Due to recent changes in our available conservation officer resource; pre-application advice for listed buildings is temporarily unavailable.  

We are sorry for the inconvenience this causes. Further information on this service resuming will be added as and when available.

Fees

We have established a menu of charging to reflect the size and complexity of particular schemes. If your scheme does not fit in to a category, please contact us for a quote.

Follow Up Advice:

In order to benefit from the reduced rates for follow-up advice, a request must be received within the following timescales:

  • Post initial pre-application advice and preceding submission of an application:  Within 12 months of the original advice given.
  • Post decision advice:  within 6 months of refusal or when an appeal is lodged (whichever is sooner).
