Tenant Engagement
We want all of our tenants to have a say in how their housing is managed and to be able to give input into ways that we can improve the services that we deliver and the area that you live in.
We have two Tenant Engagement Officers in post ready to engage with tenants and provide opportunities for people to get involved. We plan to provide various ways to have your say, whether that be joining local tenant groups, becoming estate champions or contacting us directly to let us know your thoughts. We hope to create events that you can become a part of and that by working with us we can help improve our community.
If you would like to get more involved please complete our tenant and leaseholder focus group form to let us know the best way to get in touch.
We can also be contacted via our email tenant.contact@ashford.gov.uk.
Tenant Engagement Strategy
We now have a three-year engagement strategy and action plan in place! It will be a very busy but important journey to bring our plans for engagement with tenants to life. More detail of what is coming up can be found on our dedicated tenant engagement strategy page.
Annual Satisfaction Survey
Each year we carry out a satisfaction survey to gauge how we are performing and find out what tenants think about our housing services. The survey is led by new guidance set out by the Regulator for Social Housing. More details regarding our survey for 2023/24 can be found on our Tenant Satisfaction Survey web page.
Come and meet us!
The Tenant Engagement team as well as other housing officers regularly take part in Eat Well, Spend Less Roadshows that are held monthly across the borough. It is a chance for us to meet our tenants and residents and help signpost them for our services. The event also has a variety of other participants involved in healthcare, wellbeing and community support, as well as a foodbank and hygiene products.
The next events are:
Wednesday 10 July - 10am - 3pm - One You Shop, Park Mall, Ashford Town Centre, TN24 8RY
Wednesday 7 August - 10am - 2pm - Singleton Village Hall, Hoxton Close, TN23 5LB
Wednesday 18 September - Time TBC - Victoria Park, Jemmett Road, TN23 4AD
Thursday 21 November - 10am - 2pm - Repton Connect Community Centre, TN23 3RX
We would love to see you there.
Estate Walkabouts
Every fortnight a group of our housing officers and key staff from teams such as repairs go out across the borough to take a look at estates and chat to residents. They will report repairs, fly-tips and rubbish that we are not aware of, any grounds maintenance issues and ensure fire safety compliance amongst many other things. If you would like to meet us on any of these dates for your area please get in touch via email to Tenant Engagement or call 01233 330573. Visits mostly take place from 9.30am until midday.
If you are unable to make the date we would always love to hear your views about the area that you live in. We are always looking for Estate Mates to be champions of their area, so please get in touch if that sounds like something you would be interested in.
