What do Neighbourhood Housing Officers do?

The Neighbourhood Housing Officers have geographical ‘patches’. This means as a council tenant you have a dedicated officer who you can talk to about any housing related matter. This member of staff will contact you if there is an issue with your tenancy.

The Neighbourhood Housing Officers deal with all aspects of your tenancy and neighbourhood. This includes:

• Showing prospective tenants around their new homes and setting up their tenancies. Find out more about moving in to a property;
• Helping tenants to maintain their tenancy;
• Dealing with neighbour disputes and antisocial behaviour;
• Helping tenants achieve estate improvements;
• Carrying out estate inspections;
• Ensuring tenants know how to have their say about housing services;
• Offering advice on what you need to do if you wish to move out;
• Help with mutual exchanges
• Ensuring income collection and rent is paid on time.
