Grass cutting season is about to begin – things to be aware of
Published: 11/03/2026
As we move into the new season, our Grounds Maintenance team is gearing up to start grass cutting across our sites.
This winter has been one of the wettest we’ve experienced in recent years and the ground in many areas is still heavily saturated as a result.
With the weather now taking a turn for the better, it’s important for us to get onto the grass as soon as conditions allow.
Regular early‑season cuts help us stay on schedule for the rest of the year, promote healthier growth and ensure our green spaces remain tidy and welcoming for everyone.
However, we want to make the public aware that some areas may still be too wet for our machinery. These locations haven’t been overlooked or forgotten — they’re simply not suitable for cutting at the moment.
Using heavy mowing equipment on ground that hasn’t dried sufficiently can cause rutting, compaction and long‑term damage to the turf, which is something we work hard to avoid.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we balance the need to begin the season promptly with the responsibility of protecting our green spaces.
Our teams will continue to monitor conditions closely and maintain each area as soon as it can be done safely and without risk to the ground.
Thank you for your support as we kick off another busy cutting season.
