Ashford Borough Council is committed to tackling homelessness and rough sleeping across our borough.

We are inviting residents, stakeholders and partners to provide their feedback on our proposed homelessness and rough sleeping strategy.

The strategy outlines our approach to preventing and addressing homelessness, aiming to ensure that residents in the borough can access the support they need.

Through partnership working, we strive to reduce rough sleeping and improve access to suitable and affordable housing. The proposed strategy focuses on five key priorities:

1. Monitor the current and likely future levels of homelessness.
2. Prevent homelessness.
3. Make sure accommodation is or will be available for people who are or may become homeless.
4. Provide support to people who are or maybe become homeless, or who have been homeless and need support to prevent them becoming homeless again.
5. Make best use of the resources available to tackle homelessness.

Have your say

We welcome your views on the draft strategy, including its key priorities, proposed services and ways these could be improved.

Your feedback will play a vital role in shaping the final strategy and ensuring it reflects the needs of our community. We particularly encourage individuals with direct or indirect experience of homelessness to share their valuable insights.

To view the draft Homelessness Strategy documents, visit our dedicated Homelessness and rough sleeping strategy page.

The consultation is open until 30 June 2025, and the easiest way to share your views is by completing our online survey.

For those unable to access the survey, we also welcome written feedback, which can be sent to sylvia.roberts@ashford.gov.uk.

Together, we can make a difference

Homelessness affects individuals, families, and communities. By working together, we can create a borough where everyone has an opportunity to thrive.
