Regulation 18 Consultation

What is a Regulation 18 consultation?

The council is now consulting on a draft Local Plan 2042.  This version of the Local Plan shows the intended direction of travel for the Local Plan.  As part of this work the council is seeking comments from the local community and residents about what the draft Local Plan should cover.

How can I respond to the consultation?

If you would like to view or comment on the draft Local Plan, please visit our dedicated Regulation 18 Consultation portal.

It is recommended to provide your comments online via the Consultation Portal.

Accessible print versions of the comment forms are also available to download from the consultation webpage. Once completed, please return by email to planning.policy@ashford.gov.uk or via post at: Plan Making & Infrastructure Team, Spatial Planning, Ashford Borough Council, International House, Dover Place, Ashford, TN23 1HU.

Where can I view the documents?

The draft Local Plan and evidence documents are all available to view on our Consultation portal.

These documents can be viewed on the right-hand side panel of the webpage under the ‘consultation documents’ section.

Print copies of the draft Local Plan will also be available to view at the following locations:

When do I have to respond by?

All comments using the representation forms must be provided by 5pm on 13 October 2025.

We will not be able to accept responses submitted after the close of the consultation.
