Boughton Aluph And Eastwell Neighbourhood Plan
The Referendum for the Boughton Aluph and Eastwell Parishes Neighbourhood Plan was held on 29 July 2021. The referendum result was as follows:
368 Total Votes. 341 (92.67%) Yes and 27 (7.33%) No.
The Plan will now proceed to adoption through Cabinet and Full Council in September and October 2021.

Regulation 18 - Council's Decision Statement
Ashford Borough Council has now considered the contents of the Examiner’s Report and have prepared a Decision Statement setting out the actions to be taken in response to the recommendations of the Examiner.
The Decision Statement confirms that the Boughton Aluph And Eastwell Neighbourhood Plan, with modifications, can proceed to referendum.

Independent Examination of the Neighbourhood Plan
Ashford Borough Council appointed Mr. Derek Stebbing B.A. (Hons), Dip. E.P., MRTPI as the Independent Examiner of the Boughton Aluph And Eastwell Neighbourhood Plan 2013-2030 in December 2020.
The Independent Examination has now been completed. The Council received the Examiner’s report on 1st April 2021. The Examiner’s report recommended that he Boughton Aluph and Eastwell Parishes Neighbourhood Plan 2013-2030 has been duly prepared in compliance with the procedural requirements and that the Plan, subject to a number of modifications (set out in Appendix 1 of the Examiners report below), meets the Basic Conditions and should proceed to referendum.
Ashford Borough Council has a duty1 to respond to the Examiners Report and the proposed modifications within it, in a formal 'Decision Statement' to indicate whether they agree to the Examiners recommendations and if the plan will progress to public Referendum within the parishes. This is located above.

Consultation on Regulation 16 version of the Plan
Boughton Aluph and Eastwell Parish Council submitted their Neighbourhood Plan to Ashford Borough Council. As part of the requirements of the Localism Act 2011 and Regulation 16 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012, a six-week consultation was held on the submission version of the Neighbourhood Plan. The consultation closed on 6 November 2020.
Consultation on Regulation 14 version of the Plan
As part of the requirements of the Localism Act 2011 and Regulation 14 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012, the Parish Council undertook a six week Pre-Submission Consultation (Regulation 14 Stage) on the draft Boughton Aluph and Eastwell Parishes Neighbourhood Plan. Area designation - 2014
On 10 March 2014 Ashford Borough Council received an application from Boughton Aluph and Eastwell Parish Council for the designation of a Neighbourhood Area. The area requested to be designated is the entire Parishes of Boughton Aluph and Eastwell. The application and map of the area was open for public consultation for 6 weeks from Monday 24 March to Friday 2 May.
On 12 June 2014 the cabinet approved the designation of the Boughton Aluph and Eastwell Neighbourhood Area. A copy of the cabinet report, Neighbourhood Area application and map, which identifies the area, is attached below.
