Applications open for ScaleUp Ashford, which has helped businesses grow turnover by 28%

Six local businesses in the Ashford borough have the opportunity to be part of the ScaleUp Ashford programme – a part-funded scheme that allows businesses the chance to grow.

Delivered by the Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce and part-funded by Ashford Borough Council, the ScaleUp Ashford programme gives businesses up to 20 hours of one-to-one support and 12 hours of peer networks over a 12-month period.

Previous programme participants have hugely benefitted from the scheme, including creating a total of 80 new jobs, increasing their average turnover by 28% and accessing capital investments of £1.8m.

Selected businesses will receive a dedicated consultant to support them, addressing and overcoming barriers to growth, support with applying for grants and funding, as well as networking and peer support from previous participants.

In return, those chosen will have to contribute just £50 per month (+ VAT) to be part of the programme.

"The Scale Up Ashford scheme is a fantastic opportunity for local businesses to accelerate their growth and achieve their full potential,” Cllr Simon Betty, Cabinet Member for Commercial Property & Investment, said. “By participating in this programme, businesses will receive tailored support, expert coaching and access to valuable networks and resources. 

“This initiative has already helped numerous businesses in the borough to expand, create new jobs, and increase their turnover.

“We strongly encourage all eligible businesses to get involved and take advantage of this unique opportunity to drive their growth and contribute to the economic prosperity of Ashford."
