On March 9, as part of a two-week series of events celebrating women and their achievements in the town of Ashford and the world, the Reclaim These Streets march will take place at Victoria Park, led by the Mayor of Ashford, Cllr Lyn Suddards.

The march aims to raise awareness about women's safety and gender equality, while the events will showcase the diverse contributions of women to the community.

The march will begin at 14.00 at Victoria Park, Ashford. Participants will march through the town, ending at the Coachworks, Ashford where there will be inspiring speeches, dance and vocal performances. The event is open to everyone who supports women's safety and gender equality.

The two weeks of events will feature a variety of activities, including workshops, film screenings, photographic exhibitions, a quiz, wellbeing events and performances.

The events will highlight the achievements of women in various fields, such as business, arts, and community service and will be raising vital funds for local charity, Rising Sun, who support women and families through Domestic Violence.

"We are excited to host the Reclaim These Streets march and two weeks of events celebrating women in Ashford," said Cllr Lyn Suddards, Mayor of Ashford. "These events are an opportunity to come together as a community to support women's safety, gender equality, and celebrate the incredible contributions of women to our town, of which we have in abundance!"
