Free outdoor Park Yoga classes every Sunday morning in Victoria Park
Published: 07/04/2026
Victoria Park is welcoming the return of Park Yoga with free one-hour yoga sessions every week until mid-September.
Suitable for all, they are on offer every Sunday morning between 9:30-10:30am from 3 May until 13 September 2026.
Park Yoga is a national charity delivering free outdoor community yoga in nature in 60+ towns and cities across England on Sunday mornings. It aims to bring communities together to meet new people and practice yoga in an inclusive and relaxing environment.
You don't need any previous yoga experience or knowledge to join in as the classes are beginners-level and suitable to people of all ages and abilities.
You’ll find local yoga teacher, Elise, in the open space near the Community Hub and café – just look out for the Park Yoga flag.
“As a charity we want Park Yoga to be as accessible as possible, there’s no need to book and it’s free to attend,” Cathi Farrer-Mitchell, Director of Park Yoga said. “Last year 31% of our participants had never done yoga before, so you won’t be alone if you’re new to yoga.
“You don’t need any specific equipment, just a yoga mat if you have one, but if not a blanket or towel works perfectly.
“Come along and give it a go, you won’t regret it!”
Park Yoga is supported by Ashford Borough Council and Yogi Tea. Yogi Tea will be giving out tea samples of some of their 50+blends of herbal tea during the summer.
Cllr Guy Pullen, Cabinet Member for Parks and Recreation, added: “Park Yoga is a wonderful complement to the park’s offering, providing a welcoming and accessible environment to discover the benefits offered by yoga to body and mind and soul”
“I’m truly delighted about our new partnership between Yogi and Park Yoga—two organisations united by shared values of mindfulness, wellbeing, and community,” Irene Ippolito, Brand Director for Yogi Tea at Euro Food Brands, concluded.
“It’s a privilege to support Park Yoga, a remarkable charity making yoga freely accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds.
“Together, we’re creating space for individuals connect to themselves and their communities.
Victoria Park is Ashford’s largest park, with excellent facilities including a large children’s play area, a Multi-Use Games Area, café and community space, accessible toilets, pump track, sensory garden, seasonal wetland, community orchard, listed fountain and walking and cycling paths.
While classes will still go ahead in light rain, should the weather be particularly wet, participants will be informed of a class cancellation with at least an hour's notice via the Park Yoga Ashford page on Facebook and the Park Yoga website.
Although it’s free to attend and always will be, participants are able to donate to the charity if they’d like to. Yoga Instructors have contactless donation machines available every Sunday and people can also donate online.
To be kept up to date with the weekly classes, make sure you follow Park Yoga Ashford’s Facebook page.
