Election of a Borough Councillor

1. Forms of nomination for the Borough Election may be obtained at International House, Dover Place, Ashford, Kent, TN23 1HU from the Returning Officer who will, at the request of an elector prepare a nomination paper for signature.
    
2. Nomination papers must be delivered to the Returning Officer, International House, Dover Place, Ashford, Kent, TN23 1HU on any day after the date of this notice but no later than 4 pm on Friday, 29th August 2025. 
    
3. If any election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday, 25th September 2025. 
    
4. Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Electoral Services, Ashford Borough Council, International House, Dover Place, Ashford, Kent, TN23 1HU by midnight on Tuesday 9 September 2025.  Applications can be made online: https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote 
    
5. Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes and amendments or cancellations of proxy votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at International House, Dover Place, Ashford, Kent, TN23 1HU by 5 pm on Wednesday, 10th September 2025 . You may apply online or download a form at https://www.gov.uk/apply-postal-vote or contact Ashford Electoral Services.
    
6. New applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at  International House, Dover Place, Ashford, Kent, TN23 1HU by 5 pm on Wednesday, 17th September 2025. You can find information and dependent upon your proxy type apply online at https://www.gov.uk/how-to-vote/voting-by-proxy
    
7. Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate (free voter ID, or an Anonymous Elector's Document valid for this election, must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at International House, Dover Place, Ashford, Kent, TN23 1HU by 5 pm on Wednesday, 17th September 2025. Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate can be made online: www.gov.uk/apply-for-photo-id-voter-authority-certificate. 
    
8. Applications to vote by emergency proxy , must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at International House, Dover Place, Ashford, Kent, TN23 1HU by 5 pm on Thursday, 25th September 2025.
