£10m Ashford College extension officially opens

The much-anticipated £10m phase 2 extension at Ashford College has been officially opened.

After an introduction by EKC Chief Executive Graham Razey, Ashford MP Damian Green cut the ribbon to mark the completion of an extension that allows an extra 250 students each year to enjoy the high quality education and training on offer at the Station Road site.

Damian Green was joined by guests from across local industry and business, Ashford Borough Council, staff and students. They had the chance to tour the facilities and watch live demonstrations by engineering students.

The new building includes an Engineering Hub, stocked with the very latest cutting-edge machinery, as well as new electrical, plumbing and digital facilities. The extension was made possible thanks to support from the Government's Post-16 Capacity fund and their SDF fund.
