Ashford Borough Council is continuing to work on a programme to install new electric vehicle charging points (EVCPs) throughout the borough. Nine new points have now been installed by EV dot at the Civic Centre and Stour Centre Car Park, to complement the two points already located at the site.

Users will need to set up an account with EV Dot and can download their free app (details are on the signage at the charge points). Once registered they will have instant access to the charge point.

To check if EVCP bays are available at our car parks visitors can also visit the Zap Map website at www.zap-map.com before their trip to confirm that the location has a functional charging point.

Cllr Paul Bartlett, the council’s Portfolio Holder for Community Safety and Wellbeing, said: “Ashford Borough Council has an ambitious carbon neutral target and intends to support its residents and visitors who would like to own and run an electric vehicle. As such they can expect more places to charge electric vehicles as part of plans to accelerate the transition to cleaner modes of transportation.”
