Notice of Review of Polling Districts, Places and Stations 2023
Notice of Review
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Ashford Borough Council is conducting a review of the polling districts and polling places within the Ashford parliamentary constituency and the part of Folkestone and Hythe parliamentary constituency that falls within the boundaries of the Ashford borough.
New Parliamentary Constituency boundaries have been published by the Boundary Commission for use at future Parliamentary Elections. This review will take these changes into account.
The local authority is required to carry out a full review of all polling districts and polling places every five years. The next full review period runs from 1 October 2023 and must be completed by 31 January 2025.
Electors within the authority may make a representation. The council welcomes the views of all residents, particularly disabled residents, on the proposals. If possible, those making representations should give alternative places that may be used as polling places. The consultation period for this review will commence on 25 September 2023 and end on 23 October 2023.
Representations will be sought from the Acting Returning Officers for both Parliamentary constituencies, their representations will be displayed on the council website and a copy will be held at The Civic Centre, Tannery Lane, Ashford, Kent TN23 1PL.
Local political parties, parish councils and borough councillors will be consulted and electors within this constituency are invited to make representations as well as persons with particular expertise in relation to access to premises or facilities for persons who have different forms of disability.
Comments and representations should be sent via email to vote@ashford.gov.uk or in writing to:
